Joe Vines

This week’s human is a genuine legend of the non-league game in and around London. Joe Vines has been celebrated by supporters and team-mates alike throughout his playing career, much of which was played wearing a captain’s armband.

He made his name as a tough-tackling defender at a number of clubs, including Cray Valley Paper Mills, Bromley, Crawley Town, Lewes, Tooting & Mitcham United, AFC Wimbledon and Maidstone United – and, of course, at Cray Wanderers, where he’s also been applying his coaching skills as assistant manager.
